Dr. Brown's First Feeder Bottle system offers reliable delivery for the smallest feeding volumes, up to 15cc (1 tbsp). Featuring easily identifiable graduated markings from 1cc to 15cc, it ensures accurate measurement of colostrum, milk, or formula. This makes it an excellent choice for an infant's initial oral feeds when direct breastfeeding isn't possible, for PO trials, or post-operative feeding requiring minimal liquid. Compatible with any Dr. Brown's nipple level (comes with Preemie), these reusable or disposable bottles are BPA-free and not made with natural rubber latex, providing a safe, controlled feeding solution.

Our Recommendations

Based on the information, this First Feeder system is highly recommended for situations demanding precise, very small volume feeding (15cc or less). It's ideal for newborns needing initial supplementation, infants post-surgery, or for PO trials. Customers also indicate success using it for newborn puppies and administering medication, suggesting versatility beyond its primary design. Consider it for controlled, minimal feeding needs.

Conclusion

The Dr. Brown’s First Feeder Bottle excels in providing accurate, reliable delivery for minimal feeding volumes up to 15cc. Its clear markings and compatibility with various nipples make it ideal for specific neonatal, post-operative, or medication-dosing scenarios. While praised for quality and effectiveness in these niche uses (including by pet owners), potential users should be aware of its very small size and the mixed customer feedback regarding flow rate. It's a specialized tool perfectly suited for its intended purpose.

Perfect size for newborn! AND return to work
The bottles work with my Medela and even flow pumps. They are also a realistic size for what you may pump for a newborn. Now my baby is 8 weeks- I use these to put in a small amount of breast milk for car trips. Sometimes he just needs a little “snack” when we start the trip or to tied him over until we can stop and nurse.I like that I don’t trash a large amount of liquid gold to give him a “nip”. The small size bottle is also easier to pack.I like the slow flow nipples- he does not gag on the amount of milk he gets. (Which sometimes happens at the breast.)Also the nipples wash and steam well WITHOUT A TERRIBLE SMELL. I am so glad I got these. The nipples also fit on the small Medela Bottles given to us at hospital.UPDATE- still love these. Baby is now 5 months- I just went back to work 2 weeks ago- and leave these nipples with “Grandma care” yes still premie size- they work great. And the tiny bottle are still working for a little pump after he nurses to help build up my supply.

    Perfect for Miniature Dachshund newborns
We had 2 miniature Dachshund puppies we needed to bottle feed. We tried the packs of bottles for dogs on Amazon and they were all difficult to get the formula in and the puppies had a hard time latching or getting anything out of them no matter how many holes we poked in them. These are very tiny puppies, miniature Dachshunds and they have had no trouble latching with these premie bottles. The opening is nice and big so easy to put formula in to. They don’t leak and they have been a life saver for us and the babies. They are putting on weight and thriving with these. So grateful these worked and for other reviewers who shared their experience using them with puppies.
