Ad a nurse I’ve used plenty of these types of thermometers and found them inconsistent and difficult to use This thermometer you just point-and-shoot. It is easy to use and provides consistent results. I would recommend this thermometer for home use or for professionals.

Great option for congested kid
I am a pediatric nurse, and I typically like to use under the tongue thermometers for more accurate body temperature readings. But if you have a kid who is really congested, it’s hard to get an oral reading when they’re trying to mouth breath. I decided to go for an infrared thermometer because this cold season has been pretty horrendous. I love how simple it is to use and how accurate it is (we compared it to the oral thermometer). I also like how the color changes from green to red for a fever. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but it seems pretty durable. I will make sure to update this in about 6 months.
